I taught high school/secondary school students for four years before I decided to take the big leap and take on ‘stay-at-home’ mothering. I love books, longan trees, poetry, Earl Grey tea, the sea, bicycling, dogs, music, meeting people from other cultures, hearing different languages, playing the piano and traveling. I almost choked on my dinner when I was told that some of my poetry had been published after months of waiting. And I have an MApplied Linguistics degree which explains why I like to dabble in using phonetic codes now and then when I write to friends. I also find facing the computer screen physically challenging, which may explain the frequent typos and my inability to detect them till much later.
